BELL FOUNDRY MUSEUM, LOUGHBOROUGH
John Taylor & Co. continues a line of bellfounding which has been unbroken since the middle of the 14th Century, when Johannes de Stafford was active only 10 miles from the site of the present foundry.
The museum at John Taylor & Co, tells the story of the Bellfoundry going right back to its links with bellfounding in the 13th Century. An extensive range of exhibits and memorabilia tells the story of one of the oldest manufacturing industries in the world.
The Greyhound is a perfect location if you enjoy walking, with four walks in the Burton on the Wolds area: 1 mile, 1.75miles, 2.75 miles and 3 miles. All four walks start from the Village Hall in the village centre, but the Greyhound offers the perfect location to leave your car and then come back and enjoy a great meal & pint of cask ale. DRIVING AND RACE DAYS
Also in the area is Prestwold Hall, Prestwold Hall driving centre is a purpose built venue specifically for driving experiences. As well as a 1.8 mile track with long, fast straights and high speed corners, it also has a 2 rally stages (tarmac and gravel) & a 4x4 off road track. The facilities for customers and spectators are excellent, and along with the beautiful surroundings makes a trip to Prestwold Driving Centre a perfect day out. The fleet of cars available is one of the largest in the UK, with driving experience days ranging from Mini's to top of the range Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and Aston Martin's. Prestwold Hall also boasts Junior Ferrari and Supercar driving experiences for kids! Bespoke experiences can be put together on request. So why not enjoy a day of racing, then finish the day with a meal at the Greyhound.
GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY, LOUGHBOROUGH
The Great Central Railway is the UK’s only double track, main line heritage railway. It’s the only place in the world where full size steam engines can be seen passing each other – just as it was when steam ruled the rails.

Welcome to Prestwold Hall, one of the Midlands' premier stately homes. The Hall hosts a wide variety of weddings, private parties and corporate events and up to 200 guests can be seated in the hall.
